Jin Yang's Extruder Clamps comes in two different types : Manual and Automatic. Manual clamp is used in the configuration where there is not enough space between two extruders or in a smaller extruder. The manual clamp is made with either 2 or 3 links to ensure there is no material leakage. 2 link clamps are usually used in small extruders. After closing the 2 links around the flanges, the operator will have to tightened the nut with the supplied tool by Jin Yang. 3 link clamps can be used in bigger extruders. They are much heavier than the 2 link clamps, so Jin Yang decided to use a pneumatic cylinder to push the clamps upward. With the press of a button, the pneumatic cylinder will move the 3 links clamps up and down in the case of cleaning the cross head. After pushing the 3 links clamps upwards, the operator will have to tightened the nut with the supplied tool by Jin Yang. Automatic clamp has two other configurations:horizontal and vertical. The vertical automatic clamp is equipped with worm gear box, geared motor and torque limiter. With the push of a button, the clamp will fully close and open. The vertical automatic clamp will give the best sealing between cylinder of the extruder and the neck of the cross head. The horizontal automatic clamp is used in the case of limited space. Because the horizontal automatic clamp does not
need a worm gear box, the clamping unit can fit into a smaller place. A Torque limiter will ensure that the clamps will not hurt the flange of the cylinder or the neck of the cross head.
With a preset amount of torque, when the clamping reaches a certain amount of force, the torque limiter will slip to prevent any damage. With limit sensors, the clamp will automatically stop when open. The location of the geared motor and the shape can be decided on by the customer and Jin yang in order to meet customer's satisfaction. In most extruders, the cross head holder will be equipped. It is designed to swing or move the cross head away from the extruder during cleaning. With the swing unit, the operators do not have to lift any cross head.
